FIRST READ THIS!

The most important thing when using a TENS or EMS machine is this –

“IT MUST FEEL GOOD WHILE USING THE MACHINE”.

Meaning that the actual pulses feel good, and your body is reacting well to the treatment. Some people will not know whether it feels good or not, as sometimes the feeling is quite bizarre, and new to the person. In that case ask them, or yourself, if it feels uncomfortable at all. The sensation should NEVER feel like a burning or a needle! If it does, move the pad/electrode away from where the uncomfortable feeling came from. Sometimes a few millimetres can be enough, but usually a centimetre or so is better. You want all of the pads/electrodes to feel even. That way you can turn the machine up and get proper deep stimulation on the nerve, which is the aim for pain relief. Quite simply, if it doesn’t feel good, you cannot turn the machine up high enough to get good nerve stimulation for the brain to react to. Which has led many people to think TENS machines don’t work. Similarly if you tried to give someone the ol’ school boy “dead arm” with a needle… it’s not effective. Changing the pulse/mode can be great also. Some days you may need a massage, and it will feel great… other days you will not… Listen to your body. Cycle through the different pulses and see what your body says back. If nothing feels good then that is a good indication that you may just need to rest it a day or so…
The neck is a tricky part of the body because we store a lot of tension there. Sometimes a massaging pulse is great, but mostly a more gentle pulse is required to give us the easing off result that we want. We have found that there are two great pulses for the neck on the MH6000 TENS/EMS machine.
The “MR” mode is a great gentle pulse which is perfect for backs and knees because it does not flex the muscle too much, but just enough on slow depth cycles to loosen. The other is surprisingly the EMS “S” or “A” mode. I stumbled across this by listening to my body… try them for yourself and see what yours says. 15 minutes is a good amount of time on the neck also. Shorter if it gets uncomfortable. It depends how many years of stress you have built up in your neck, your lifestyle, injuries etc. but tread carefully.
Most other parts of the body will react better to 30-45 minutes of stimulation. The greatest success stories come from those people who listen to their body.
Always remember the golden rule: IT MUST FEEL GOOD WHILE USING THE MACHINE!
Don’t put up with anything that you know could feel better if you moved it a bit also. Follow your intuition, and experiment a bit.
NEVER PUT PADS/ELECTRODES ON HEAD,THROAT, OR HEART!
DO NOT USE IF EPILEPTIC, OR HAVE A PACE MAKER!

BEWARE OF CHEAP IMITATIONS THAT DO NOT EVER FEEL GOOD!

These machines give TENS machines a bad name. You can not get enough nerve stimulation for pain relief if it does not feel good. If it feels like you are getting burned… you are!
Health Innovations TENS machines are high quality, and should always feel good. So if it doesn’t, quite simply, your body is telling you not to do that. This is one of the main reasons we have a nervous system, which uses electricity to interact with the outside world. If you put your hand on a hot plate your nervous system will tell you to remove it VERY effectively. An amazing system indeed. Especially when you work with it!

Read your manual. There is a lot of information inside… maybe too much… but everything is in there.
Check with your doctor if you have any concerns.
You can contact Health Innovations for any assistance with using your machine.

Health Innovations TENS machines come with a basic guide for pad positioning, and HZ value settings. We can also set your machine up for you and your ailment to just plug and go.
